Making Ourselves Heard Participation Forum - now open

The Making Ourselves Heard team are pleased to announce the launch of our new online Participation forum.

While our existing website offers access to tools, resources and training to strengthen your participation practices, our recent work has shown that there is a clear need and demand amongst participation practitioners and other SEND professionals for more discussion and sharing. We are responding to this demand by establishing a forum which will allow practitioners to share learning, resources and examples of best practice, as well as to support each other when challenges arise. We hope to encourage supportive networks within and between local areas, as well as at the national level.

This forum is aimed at:

  • Front line practitioners who engage directly with disabled children and young people
  • Those in roles supporting strategic decision making, such as service managers
  • Those who commission services
  • Staff who are developing joint working
  • Academics researching and developing participation practices.

Over the next few weeks, we will be hosting discussions on topics a range of topics, including co-production, engaging children and young people through social media and strengthening the links between the different levels of participation. We invite you to take part by taking part in discussions and sharing your resources, knowledge and experience, as well as contributing any questions that you have.
