Development Officer - Social Care
Tom contributes to the improvement of frontline practice and outcomes for vulnerable young people. He writes social policy, researches best practice and supports the delivery of social care training and workshops, particularly in regards to amendments in SEND legislation.
Thomas holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work which he obtained in Liverpool. Before joining CDC, Tom worked as a Social Worker within a Looked After Children’s Team. In this role, he worked closely with young people and their families to support them through difficult periods in their life and, subsequently, improve their outcomes. Tom saw first-hand how challenging systems and processes can be and, therefore, wanted to work in the charity sector to challenge, amend or devise new policies in practice.
