Dan is responsible for the delivery of a range of policy and practice projects focusing on the social care needs of disabled children and those with special educational needs.
Before joining CDC, Dan was a child protection social worker in Manchester. He has an MSc in social work and conducted research into the use of motivational interviewing in front line practice.
Dan also has a longstanding commitment to promoting young people’s access to higher education. He acted as a mentor for a widening participation charity and has also delivered training on routes into higher education to teachers in an inner city state school.
In a previous life, Dan trained as a car mechanic.
