On November 7th 2012, Short Breaks Network ran a policy-based conference exploring good practice in personalised services for disabled children and young people. This is a Better Breaks conference journal from that event on a personalised approach to short breaks. It is helpful to parents, carers and health, social care and education practitioners as it considers what personalisation means, reaching out for supported volunteering and the Families and Personalisation Project.
In this resource the thinking for local statutory agencies, national development teams for inclusion & dimensions and personalisation Resources are discussed. Also outlined are the research and practice updates for the following:
- Action for Children Research briefing
- ‘Barter for Better’, Southend
- Young Peoples Advisory Group
- Contact a Family Good Practice Bulletin
