This is a Better Breaks journal from February 2012 and looks at meeting the challenge in delivering Short Breaks to all. It is helpful to parents, carers and health, social care and education practitioners as it considers the role of strategic advisers and regional coordinators in improving sustainable outcomes for short breaks. Changing the culture through working in partnership creatively and developing a short break service for hard to reach children are also discussed.
In this resource the beginning of the short breaks journey is described. Also considered is how to support children and young people with severe learning disabilities whose behaviour is described as challenging, so that they are able to successfully access short break services.
