Contact has published a report on how the increase in care costs and the decline in financial support from the social security system has impacted disabled children. The report relays the findings of their 2018 survey of 2770 families with disabled children.
A snapshot of their findings include:

- 56% of respondents said that the disability benefits they receive only partly cover the extra costs linked to their child’s disability or health condition
- 33% have taken out a loan to pay for food
- 36% said that changes to the benefits system in the past 2 years has left their family worse off
