Designated Clinical Officer case studies

The Council for Disabled Children and NHS England worked together on the development of resources on the Designated Clinical Officer and Designated Medical Officer roles, in order to provide a guidance on the various functions of the roles and an insight into how they are emerging in different areas.

The DCO Case studies illustrate the role of the Designated Clinical Officer in three different local areas, with concrete examples of what the role entails.
