It is important to recognise and understand the barriers affecting access and inclusion to early years provision for young children with SEN and disabilities.
The accompanying presentation attached at the bottom of the page draws on a range of research, studies and data to highlight some of the barriers. It takes a national perspective and is designed to support reflection on local barriers.
Question and answer and discussion following the presentation may helpfully identify some of the local barriers, or aspects of local policy and practice where more information needs to be gathered in order to understand better the nature of local barriers.
