The Council for Disabled Children are running a social media week on 8th April 2019. They want to encourage young people to share their views and get a discussion started on their right to participate in decision making. This particular social media week focuses on rights; specifically, why young people think rights are important. Disabled young people face more barriers than non-disabled young people, and as such they have more rights to better equip them to fully participate in society. We want to get a discussion generated by young people on why they think it is important they have and can use rights effectively!
Below is a session plan that includes suggestions for you to engage your group with. Please feel free to adapt it to suit your groups needs and interests.
Please download the session, and share what your young people say on 8th April! Don't forget to tag CDC on Twitter, @CDC_tweets, and include the hashtag, #CYPrights
