Making Play Inclusive

Sense’s Play Inquiry found that children with multiple needs have significantly fewer opportunities to access play than their non-disabled peers.

In response to these findings – and to families’ requests for guidance on playing with their children – we have developed two play toolkits: one for early years play settings and their staff, and one for parents.

The toolkits have been created to help play providers and families develop fun and inclusive play opportunities for children with multiple needs.

Both toolkits contain simple ideas, suggestions and practical tips on making play fully accessible – and are accompanied by ten videos.
