Sharing Data and Info: EHC Plans

Written by Council for Disabled ChildrenDate 01 Jul 2014

This briefing looks at how sharing data and information is critical to ensuring more integrated and person-centred support for children and young people.

The effective planning, assessment and delivery of Education Health and Care plans will require key professionals sharing the right information across services and commissioning boundaries. While there are clearly legitimate concerns about the sharing of information and data between professionals and services there is a clear expectation in the current policy framework that professionals and services adopt a positive approach to the sharing of information, focused on identifying solutions rather than barriers to making services safer and more effective. This briefing provides further guidance in this area as well as links to useful resources.
