Written by Short Breaks NetworkDate 03 May 2012

This resource was produced by Impact and analyses the Short Breaks Statements produced by local authorities and how they described the range of services on offer locally, how these services will meet a wide variety of needs and how these needs have been identified.

Impact was the Department for Education’s Strategic Partner for Special Educational Needs and Disability working on the Short Breaks agenda with 152 local authorities in England. Their focus was on helping local authorities to develop their Short Breaks capability, to develop comprehensive Short Breaks statements and to deal with the changes brought about by the recent SEND reforms. Local authorities continue to review their Short Breaks Statements to meet the demands of the new SEND agenda.
