Short Breaks in Practice 1

Written by Short Breaks NetworkDate 15 Mar 2012

This is a Short Breaks in Practice resource on carer toilet breaks during community activities. This is helpful guidance for parents, and health, education and social care practitioners. This publication asks the question - what is acceptable and safe practice when a carer/outreach worker needs to use the toilet whilst on a 1:1 community activity with a child or young person. It explains that the needs of the carer and the disabled child needs to consider the right of children and people to participate in community activities with managed potential risk.
