As part of the Strategic Reform Partner (SRP) contract with the Department for Education, CDC have developed a training pack which can be delivered in team meetings for social care staff. This training, an Introduction to Social Care and the SEND reforms, is designed to support team managers in providing an introduction to the reforms to their team.
The training can be delivered in an hour and provides an overview of the SEND reforms, and the role of social care within these. This is designed to be provide flexibility, and can be delivered in a team meeting or a lunch time session. By the end of the session professionals will have an understanding of the key legislation, the role of social care (including identification of social care needs), and the purpose of Education, Health and Care (EHC) plans in supporting children, young people and their families.
