Written by Short Breaks PartnershipDate 23 Jun 2015

This case study looks at how the views of parent carers are informing short breaks provision in Hampshire.

Over 5,000 families access the short breaks provision in Hampshire each year and much of that provision has been developed with the support of parents. With short break provision under threat of funding cuts the local Parent Carer Forum undertook a number of activities to try and protect these important services. This case study highlights the year-long period of activity taken on by the local forum, along with challenges, outcomes and factors contributing to the success of their involvement.
