Philippa project manages a number of projects across the Health team, from large-scale national programmes to small packages of support for local areas, as well as leading on the delivery of training and workshops. Her work primarily focuses on supporting professionals to unpick tricky issues in order to work together better, thereby improving support and services for disabled children and their families. She is particularly interested in monitoring and evaluating the impact that strategic decisions have on children and young people’s lives.
Before joining NCB, Philippa worked as a teaching assistant in both mainstream and special schools, including providing one-to-one support, before leading disabled children’s participation groups for two different local authorities. She is also a part time carer for a child with complex needs, and therefore aims to keep the voices of disabled children and young people, and their families, at the centre of all she does.
