Derby Hospitals Charity exists to support all aspects of the work of Derby Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust at the Royal Derby Hospital and the London Road Community Hospital. They are here to make patients' lives better.
Funding received by the Charity help to provide the extras that can’t be provided from NHS statutory funding, but make a real difference to their patients and staff.
Derby Hospitals Charity produces Exchange – a six monthly newsletter that is sent to all our supporters and those who are interested in their work.
The Charity supports the hospital by providing additional finance and resources. The four key priorities which the charity supports are;
- Patient welfare. Such as purchasing toys for the Children’s Hospital or funding new assessment areas for the Frail and Elderly in the Medical Assessment Unit.
- Equipment. The very latest state-of-the-art medical equipment to help provide the best possible care for our patients.
- Local research projects. Helping to find new ways of treating illness and curing disease.
- Supporting our Staff. We keep them as up to date as possible in the latest medical knowledge through support to attend a variety of courses and conferences.
