Parents for Inclusion

They work to bring their understanding and experience to parents, so that parents can become real allies to their disabled children.

Parents for Inclusion is: Parents supporting parents so that ALL children and young people are valued and treated equally in education and throughout life.

Parents for Inclusion works:

  • to ensure that every child and young person is valued for who they are, as they are;
  • to  support other parents with information, skill and confidence to speak up for  the rights of their children to be treated equally in education and throughout life;
  • to raise understanding and build necessary skills among professionals, allies and parents for building inclusive communities, for example in schools and colleges.​

Parents for Inclusion developed innovative ways of working with parents and professionals which are:

  • person centred,

  • inclusive,

  • solution focussed,

  • rights based,

  • community orientated,
