The former Chief Executive of the National Children's Bureau, Dr Hilary Emery, has been appointed CBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours list, alongside a host of figures from across the children's and disabilities sectors.
Debbie Barnes, the Director of Children's Services in Lincolnshire and Chair of the Association of Director of Children's Services's (ADCS) Educational Committee, is appointed OBE, as are the National Network of Parent Carer Forum's (NNPCF) Karen Hoe, and Neil Churchill, Director of Patient Experience for NHS England. Also receiving OBEs are Diane Rochford, the Executive Headteacher of the John F Kennedy Special School and Chair of the Rochford Review and Dr Ashok Roy, the Clinical Lead on Learning Disabilities for Health Education England.
