Every Disabled Child Matters (EDCM), the consortium campaign run by Contact a Family, Council for Disabled Children, Mencap and Special Education Consortium, is evolving and will stop in its current guise at the end of September 2015.
EDCM has made many lasting, positive gains. However, times have changed and the time is right to bring together a wider coalition of organisations under a fresh banner to ensure that the needs of disabled children, young people and their families are not forgotten or side-lined in an era of continuing austerity. Services have been under immense pressure in recent years and this is set to continue.
We want to bring a wide range of organisations together to create a louder, stronger, more compelling voice to ensure that Government and those with responsibility for planning and delivering services at national and local level are left in no doubt about how to meet the needs of disabled children, young people and their families.
CDC will be a part of the new campaign and, working with Contact a Family, Sense and The National Autistic Society, is helping to bring supporters and organisations together to shape the successor campaign.
We are inviting input from organisations we believe will understand the value of a new campaign, who could benefit from being part of it and who have experience and wisdom to share with us to help develop the new campaign. If you would like to know more or to get involved and share your thoughts and ideas with us, please contact email@example.com.
