Vicky Ford, the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Children and Families, writes open letter to children and young people with SEND, their families and carers and those who work to support them

Vicky Ford, the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Children and Families, to children and young people with special educational needs (SEND), their families and carers and those who work to support them has written an open letter on the return to school. 

In the letter Minister Ford recognises that this is a challenging and anxious time for children and their families and also recognises the challenges and obstacles many people have faced during the pandemic. 

The letter provides advice and guidance on several issues, including behaviour, risk assessments, face coverings, specialist and visiting practitioners, mental health and wellbeing, aerosol generating procedures and hospital schools, as well as linking to some of the support available to help.
