During the SEND and AP Green Paper consultation period, CDC led a number of face-to-face workshops and virtual events with parent and carers, health, social care, education and VCS to understand their views on the reforms.
Anecdotal feedback suggests that in some cases, there are already positive examples of the reforms taking place across the country to improve outcomes for children and young people but that these are not widely known.
In our role as Strategic Reform partner to the DfE, the Council for Disabled Children (CDC), are putting out a call for examples in relation to the following 4 themes:
- Example of good joint working between education, health and care
- Example of strong early intervention including good wraparound support from health and care for pupils on SEN support
- Example of effective management of the EHCP process, leading to high quality EHC plans and improved outcomes for children and families
- Example of effective preparation for adulthood including progression in HE/FE/employment
We will publish the best examples we receive as short blogs on our website based on the template in this survey.
