SENDIASS Royal Greenwich
Description of service
Children and young people up to 25 years with special educational needs and disabilities- as well as their parents and carers- can access free and impartial information, advice and support through Royal Greenwich SEND Information, Advice and Support Service (SENDIASS). SENDIASS staff can:
- give help and advice over the phone
- give practical support, such as help filling in forms and letter writing
- help parents to understand the assessment process
- help with meetings at school
- provide support in annual reviews
- signpost parents to other statutory and voluntary sector agencies and support groups including Greenwich Parent Voice, an independent group of parents in Greenwich (who all have children with special educational needs or disability)
- help parents to draw up a profile of their child
- start a parental request for an EHC plan and link parents, carers and young people to Independent Supporters
