To ensure that children and young people reach their potential and realise their ambitions it is vital that we have a workforce that is skilled, well-led and properly supported.
We believe that to achieve effective change and to improve service delivery practitioners need to be well-informed and feel confident in their ability to carry out their responsibilties. This means having effective processes in place, shared systems of support and a collective understanding of what's needed and how to meet that need. As a sector we need to be able to work effectively together across institutional and professional boundaries with a common focus on meeting the needs of children, young people and their families.
How we support workforce development
Much of our work is focused specifically around achieving these aims. Using the insight we gain working with strategic leads and frontline practitioners we develop practical guidance, bespoke training packages and toolkits and templates to help replicate good practice. We encourage collaborative learning communities that strengthen relationships within multi-agency networks. Most importantly we work alongside parent carers and children and young people to ensure they are have a voice and influence over the way their services are delivered.
