The Information Advice and Support Programme ended on 31 March 2022. However, the Information Advice and Support Network and Helpline service, provided by Contact, will continue with its offer.
The programme seeks to ensure that in every local authority area, disabled children and young people and children and young people with special educational needs and their parents have access to impartial and free information, advice and support covering SEND issues through local statutory SEND Information, Advice and Support Services and the offer of a national helpline and online advice which is provided by Contact.
With so much out there about Covid-19 (coronavirus) and confusion about the virus and its impact, IASP and statutory services want to make sure families know where to ask questions and access the most important information. However, Covid-19 has temporarily changed some of the ways local services are provided to parents, children and young people, but they are all still very much available and with support from IASP, are rapidly adapting to ensure they are available to support as many people as possible.
The programme is led by the Council for Disabled Children and funded by the Department for Education. The programme is being delivered through a partnership arrangement between the Information, Advice and Support Network and Contact and IPSEA as a legal training provider
