Description of service
The service helps parents and carers who have a child with difficulties with learning and or a disability and children and young people who have a learning difficulty and or a disability from birth to 25 years. The service is confidential and offers impartial advice and information to help clients make informed decisions. The service encourages clients to express their view. There are trained staff and volunteers who can support with filling in forms, meeting preparation and sitting in on meetings to help keep track of what's happening. The service can offer information on Special Educational Needs Law and Disability, health and social care. We can help families to understand, interpret and apply information to their own situation. We can give information on how to resolve disagreements relating to SEN. We can give advice on local policy and practice as well as personalisation and personal budgets. We can give advice on childcare including a childcare matching service.
