In this paper the Government has set out it's reform programme for children's social care over the the next 5 years.
The paper proposes changes in a number of key areas:
- People and Leadership:
Developing the socal work profession through improved training and continous professional development. The paper also proposes a new regulatory body for social work. - Practice and Systems:
Supporting greater innovation and removing barriers to effective practice. It also talks about making better use of data too understand and respond to new and emerging threats. - Governance and Accountability:
Proposal for regional commissioning of residential care placements and reviewing the role of local authorities. The paper also suggests using joing targeted inspections and improved multi-agency work to drive improvement.
