My name is Fiona Barry and I am a Speech and Language Therapist and the Head of Service for Children and Young People’s Integrated Therapies at Buckinghamshire NHS Healthcare Trust.
I am proud to lead an integrated team of children’s community Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy and Physiotherapy. Working within an integrated acute and community Trust and with system partners in the Local Authority , ICB and VCSE sector I I aim to bring insight and energy to our discussions.
Over the years I have worked across a range of settings and specialities, predominantly focused on early years, having learnt my trade during the heyday of the national Sure Start initiative.
I am keen to enable the network to gather clinicians from all arenas as everyone in the space of CYP AHPs has so much to give. For me, the way forward for services supporting children is to share good practice and learning, regardless of variance in commissioning, provider organisations or sectors. Broad representation within our membership and actively welcoming colleagues from underrepresented groups is key. I advocate for incorporating lived experience feedback and insights on topics to enable the network to shape and co-produce solutions and developments.
