Association for Rehabilitation of Communication and Oral Skills (ARCOS)

ARCOS aims to improve the quality of life of people with communication problems and/or eating (swallowing) difficulties, and the lives of their families and carers.  Our goal is to enable them to benefit from the latest advances in knowledge, understanding, skills and technology. This involves the promotion and provision of specialist training, comprehensive therapy, suitable research and support, including those with complex disabilities resulting from developmental or acquired brain injury.  Such provision is not readily or adequately available through the NHS or other organisations.  ARCOS was formed in 1992. Based in the West Midlands we have a Resource Training and Therapy Centre and operate a nationwide outreach service.

ARCOS Never Say Never:  A number of ARCOS clients have been told that nothing or nothing more can be done.  To date, we have found that there is always something that can be done to make life more comfortable and even fun!
