The Children's Hyperinsulinism Charity

The Children’s Hyperinsulinism Charity is a parent-led organisation established in 2016 to support families affected by Congenital Hyperinsulinism (CHI), a rare condition that causes dangerously low blood sugar in children.

We provide emotional and practical support through our support group, family fun days, and family conferences, bringing families together to build lasting connections and access trusted information. Our charity champions patient-led research, ensuring the voices of those with lived experience shape the future of CHI care. We advocate for greater awareness among healthcare professionals and the public, improved access to treatments and technology such as continuous glucose monitors (CGMs), and earlier detection to reduce misdiagnosis and delays. By working collaboratively, we aim to improve outcomes and quality of life for children and young adults living with this complex and often misunderstood condition.
