Connect is a registered charity. Since 1981 Connect has been providing services to children and young people with special needs and/or disability to families living in the borough of St Helens in Merseyside. In 2004 Connect was given the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service
Connect's Youth Group caters for 11 - 25 year olds who have social communication difficulties and their families providing a range of activities.
Over the years Connect has shaped local policy through a participatory action research programme: SHARP (St Helens Action Research Project) Report to inform the development of integrated services. Services delivered have included numerous groups and activities - summer play schemes, support groups, disabled access caravans, an autism support group, pamper sessions and Parent4Parent support. Current services include a Youth Group and a Toy and Leisure Library.
