Neurofibromatosis (NF) is an incurable genetic condition that causes tumours to grow on nerve endings. For over 45 years, Nerve Tumours UK has provided support and advice to the 26,500 people diagnosed with NF: Neurofibromatosis Type 1, NF2-related-Schwannomatosis and Schwannomatosis. It affects over 26,500 children and adults living in the UK. NF is one of the most common neuro-genetic conditions and has many associated medical, physical and psychological conditions and impacts
We aim to meet the needs of everyone within the NF community by funding a unique specialist support network, comprising regional nurses, national helpline, clinical guidelines, information days, an interactive website, online communities plus medical guidelines/literature. We also support their carers, families and all associated healthcare professionals.
