Sebastian's Action Trust

Sebastian’s Action Trust offers respite holidays to seriously-ill children and their families. It supports families of seriously-ill children from diagnosis, through treatment and beyond by listening and responding to their unmet needs.

The Trust also gives emotional, social and practical support through an outreach service to families, providing assistance at critical times to those exhausted by the stresses of hospital life and their child’s gruelling treatment. In addition, an Outreach Hub, in Slough, Berkshire, provides a drop-in centre, enabling families to access advice, guidance, advocacy, counselling and therapeutic support in order to address some of the critical issues they face on a daily basis.

The Trust does not have a restrictive geographical catchment area and already supports families in the South East, principally from Berkshire, Hampshire, Surrey, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire; however, families from outside these areas are welcome for respite breaks at The Bluebells.

Sebastian’s Action Trust has two main aims:

Providing holidays in our purpose-built holiday home: They have built  a holiday home for children with life-threatening or life-limiting illnesses, giving them the opportunity for a respite break with family and loved ones, in a purpose-built facility.

Providing support: To offer emotional, social and practical support for children with life-threatening or life-limiting illnesses and their families. They understand that every family’s situation is unique and look to meet their individual needs by giving meaningful assistance at critical times.
