Sensory based stay and play sessions for children with Special Education Needs and Disabilities aged 0-8
SEN frienDs Group CIC is a not-for-profit, parent-led community interest company based in Doncaster. We provide sensory-based sessions and support for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), focusing on ages 0–8, with plans to expand to support individuals up to age 25. Our work is delivered by trained sensory needs practitioners and informed by lived experience.
We support families through our free and low-cost community stay and play sessions, which offer in-person peer support, a welcoming sensory environment, and access to guidance and information from our trained volunteers.
We collaborate with schools to help them meet children’s additional sensory needs through practical advice, our sensory equipment and communication aids library, and inclusive events like in-school glow parties, sensory sessions, summer fairs, and proms for special schools. We also work closely with other local organisations, Doncaster Council, and Family Hubs to extend support and ensure families are connected to the right services.
