A theme of inclusion in schools and how to improve or develop this was a clear priority for respondents. These sessions have been tailored for staff with different levels of experience, considering statutory requirements, and practical examples to help improve your practice within your setting, classroom or normal area of work within education settings.
This workshop is for those who work in schools or education settings in support roles such as teaching assistants, or those who have recently started teaching and want to improve their knowledge of inclusion for children and young people with special educational needs or disabilities. It will include topics such as:
- Definitions of inclusion and how you can apply them to your work
- Relevant legislation and what the law says you must do
- Practical examples and ideas to take back to your setting
- Curriculum and assessment, school policies and fostering a sense of belonging
- Discussions with other education staff to develop and refine ideas
