Online Interactive Workshops Co-designed and Co-delivered with Young People
The Code of Practice 2015 makes it clear that the voice of young people must be central to all aspects of the SEND system. Young people need to be supported to express their aspirations for now and in the future and to think about outcomes that will help them to achieve great lives. However, it is clear that young people’s voices are still not central to either EHC or strategic planning. This interactive workshop is co-designed and delivered by young people who will share their wisdom about how the SEND system can change so that it works for them.
Objectives are to:
- Increase understanding of Preparing for Adulthood pathways for young people Post 16 – thinking about Preparing for Adulthood through the eyes of young people
- Consider what works to prepare young people for adult life with evidence from young people themselves and how to translate this into EHC planning and reviews
- Explore the challenges participants face in planning with young people to prepare them for adulthood
- Increase understanding of tools and resources available to support best practice
