Through the RISE contract, funded by the Department for Education, the Council for Disabled Children (CDC) conducted a SEND workforce survey, designed to understand workforce learning needs and identify key content for new training. CDC will deliver a series of training sessions following on from what was raised in the survey.
Each training session is intended for a different audience. These training sessions will take place online on MS Teams, at a range of times, as detailed below.

Navigating Health and SEND
Health is a key element of the experience for children and young people with SEND, their families and practitioners alike. Both the SEND system and health system are complicated, and both are changing dramatically over the next few years. In Navigating Health and SEND, we will outline what the current health system is and how it is changing. We will also share how this interacts the existing SEND system and the proposed new SEND system being rolled out.
In the seminar, we will give an overview of the NHS operating model; the NHS ten year plan for England; plans for Neighbourhood health, the role of ICBs, Providers and Regions; what responsibilities the NHS has when it comes to SEND; and how all of this might look when the SEND reforms are rolled out.
The training will be led by Mrunal Sisodia who works as a senior leader in both the SEND system (chairing two local authority SEND boards) and the NHS (as a non-executive director in the NHS and previously chair of a large NHS trust).
Audience: Practitioners, managers and strategic leaders from multi-agency partners working across the SEND system.
