Dates for each region from November - February
One of the themes identified in the survey was Understanding the Social Care Offer for inclusion.
This training course will look to cover the social care offer for disabled children and young people and those with SEN, including access, eligibility criteria and responsibilities and duties for providing care and support. Universal services, short breaks, direct payments, and other forms of provision will be explored in the context of inclusion and working in partnership to identify and address needs early, making links with SEN support, family hubs and the Families First social care reforms.
Audience: Practitioners, managers and strategic leaders from multi-agency partners working across the SEND system.
Objectives
- Understand and contextualise inclusion for social care practitioners and leaders.
- Understand the legal framework of disabled children and young people’s rights and entitlements to accessing social care services
- Understand the different approaches local areas can take to developing and maintaining the social care offer.
