MAIN – Taking Autism Personally (MAIN) is a Teesside-based charity providing services for families affected by disabilities throughout Teesside, North Yorkshire and County Durham.

MAIN provides short breaks which allow our children the opportunity to engage giving them the opportunity to have fun, make friends and try new things whilst giving parents/carers a break from the demands of their caring roles.  In turn our personal support assistant service gives children the opportunity to access community based facilities with support of our staff.

The long-term aim of our services are improved chances of living independently and hence be a reduced burden on the welfare state, notwithstanding the impact it will have on improving the individual’s confidence and self-esteem.

MAIN has training services offering accredited and non-accredited training for parents/carers and professionals.  These are available at our own venue or as a bespoke service at a client’s own premises.
