The Standing Commission on Carers is an independently appointed advisory committee, providing information and advice to Government and officials on policy and practice as they relate to carers.
The Commission works with and across the third and public sectors and with carers' and other organisations. Their role covers a diverse range of carers across the age range.
Strategic challenges and opportunities associated with caring, paying particular regard to:
- demographic changes
- developments in public policy
- changing relationships in families
- equality and diversity
- improvements in technology
