Sussex Community NHS Trust

We are the main provider of NHS community health services in West Sussex and Brighton and Hove.

The quality of our care has been rated by the Care Quality Commission as Good almost across the board, outstanding in some places, and with some actions required in others.

Expert teams provide essential medical, nursing and therapeutic care to over 8,000 adults, children and families a day. From health visitors looking after new born babies to community practitioners (nurses and therapists) caring for the frail elderly and people nearing the end of their life, they look after some of the most vulnerable people in the community

The board has also set four strategic objectives for 2011/16. These are:

  • Develop flexible and innovative care based on patient-centred design.
  • Improve patient experience and raise the quality of care.
  • Sustain and improve financial strength.
  • Become a thriving Foundation Trust supported by excellent staff and public engagement.
