On Tuesday 21 March 2022, CDC ran a national webinar on journeys from Clinical Commissioning Groups to Integrated Care Boards (ICBs).
The webinar was aimed at health professionals who work with children with SEND and strategic leads (SEND Leads, Children's Health Commissioners, DCO/DMOs, DSCOs), as well as parent/carer forum representatives.
The webinar consisted of the following presentations:
- An introduction by Dame Christine Lenehan - Director of the Council for Disabled Children
- SEND and ICBs: statutory duties, key roles and a focus of babies, children, and young people - Andrew Fellowes, Assistant Director at CDC
- Learning from Local Area SEND Inspections: the role of Integrated Care Boards - Lea Pickerill, Children’s Services Inspection Team Manager from CQC
- SEND within South West London ICS - Alison Stewart, Head of SEND in South West London ICS
- CDC’s Analysis of Systems’ Strategies in relation to Babies, Children and Young People and learning from Nottingham and Nottinghamshire’s Statement of Intent for SEND - CDC and Michelle Sherlock, DCO for SEND Nottingham & Nottinghamshire.
After each presentation there was time allocated for questions and answers.
