What service providers need to know
Practice Guide
From September 2002, the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 applies to all providers of early years services. This leaflet explains how the DDA applies to those providing care and education in early years settings. It provides examples of how the duties work and suggests some simple approaches that may help to ensure that disabled children are not discriminated against.

This publication is no longer in print. There are plans to revise this booklet following the release of the duties relating to disability in the Equality Act in early 2012. Once this publication is reprinted it will be announced here and on the latest news page.
