Eclipse Education is an alternative education provider commissioned by Bath and North East Somerset (B&NES) Council and local schools to provide education for students with EHCPs, including those supported under Section F provisions.
We welcome learners from Key Stage 3 through to Post-16, supporting young people with SEND, mental health needs, experiences of trauma, and those who are Looked After Children.
Our approach is centred on creating bespoke, highly personalised curricula that enable each student to access their learning potential in a way that is meaningful, accessible, and responsive to their individual needs. Alongside academic learning, we offer a wide range of enrichment, community-based, and vocational opportunities that are tailored to students' interests, strengths, and aspirations, helping them to develop confidence, independence, and positive outcomes for the future.
We contribute to the development of policy and practice through close collaboration with local authorities, schools, families, and external professionals.
We actively participate in multi-agency working, contributing to EHCP reviews, professional meetings, and transition planning to ensure that the voices and needs of children and young people are represented. Through our work with commissioned placements, we provide feedback to local authorities and schools regarding effective approaches to engagement, inclusion, attendance, wellbeing, and personalised learning.
Our provision is built around evidence-informed and trauma-informed practice. We regularly review and adapt our approaches in response to emerging research, local needs, and feedback from students, families, and partner agencies. We share successful strategies and learning with referring schools and professionals to support positive outcomes for children and young people with SEND.
Staff engage in regular CPD, including SEND, safeguarding, trauma-informed practice, mental health, and behaviour support training. We also participate in local Alternative Provision networks, round-table discussions, conferences, and sector events, enabling us to share learning, contribute to professional dialogue, and remain informed about emerging developments in SEND and alternative provision practice.
We are committed to promoting inclusive practice and advocating for flexible, personalised educational pathways that enable children and young people to access learning, develop independence, and achieve meaningful outcomes. Through our day-to-day work, professional partnerships, and engagement with the wider sector, we seek to contribute positively to the ongoing development of high-quality SEND and alternative provision practice.
