Professionals across these services explained they faced barriers to effectively and easily sharing information, including a lack of clarity about why they should share information; individual and organisational nervousness and uncertainty about the law and what is permissible; confusion about how to draft an Information Sharing Agreement (ISA) due to the different templates, standards and sign-off processes; and questions about how to ensure data sharing is secure.
This guidance has been developed in response to common concerns and questions about information sharing expressed by professionals working across children’s health, care and education services in the Midlands.
We would like to thank all of the individuals and local areas who contributed to this resource by sharing their experiences.
